Completed a one-year assignment as Senior Vice President & Head of Corporate Planning for Bank of America reporting to the Bank’s CFO leading a fundamental redesign and restructuring of the Bank’s planning, forecasting and reporting processes.

As an executive in corporate America my life was ruled by Sarbanes Oxley, the Fed, The Wall Street Journal and Ken Lewis, BofA's then CEO.

Co-founder of The Hackett Group a leading business benchmarking and research firm. Designed many of the firms benchmarks and analyzed the management practices of nearly 2,000 different organizations. As Chief Operating Officer I helped negotiate the sale the business in 1997 and was a member of the leadership team that took The Hackett Group public on NASDAQ in 1998.

The Early Years


Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England in 1961, I grew up in Congleton, Cheshire and attended Sandbach Grammar School from 1970 to 1980 graduating with A-levels in Economics, Geography, Statistics and General Studies. Represented the school at athletics (believe it or not) chess, cricket, rugby, and swimming (five time district champion in the backstroke). Also captained Congleton Golf Club's junior golf team to two regional championships in 1977 and 78 beginning a lifelong addiction to chasing little white balls across fields.

Dad - a small businessman who got his degree at 47 while running his own business full time Slade, T-Rex, Moody Blues, Ten Years After, and a little of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
